About me
Hello, I’m Retro.
No, I don’t mean it as in a fashion sense, or my age (¬¬), I’ve used the nickname “retrohelix” since I registered the domain back in 2002 or 2003, and since then people always reduce my nick to just “retro” ¬_¬.
I am Latino, born and raised in Guatemala, and now an American citizen.
I love all things internet, that’s why I decided to turn my site into a blog
.
I’m a certified Computer Technician, and worked out there in the field for about 3 years, so if you live in the MD, Northern VA, or DC area and need your computer fixed contact me
.
I’ve also worked many times doing drive testing for wireless companies in this region (you probably saw me but didn’t know that awesome guy was me
), so my butt got used to the daily 10+ hours driving xD.
I’m always trying to learn new things, I’m really interested in web design, so whenever I can I play with whatever tutorials I can find, so if you find my site up-side-down you can blame it on those sweet tutorials
.
I would like to go back to school and get another cert, or maybe study something around web design, of course that will have to wait until I find a job =S.
About the site
Retrohelix.com is, and has been my personal site since around 2002. Its original purpose was to display some anime music videos (amv) I had edited back in the beginnings of the site, I loved video editing at the time, but at some point I just stopped making the videos and left the site alone for some time.
This site has has many designs, mostly from my friend Waldir Bolaños, who was kind enough to provide me with many pre-blog designs, so thanks guy
.
The site is about anything I find interesting or funny, hence the “a blog about everything” slogan
.
